Maeving: The UK’s First EV Motorcycle Charging Into The Future

Maeving The UK's First EV Motorcycle Charging Into The Future

Maeving is a British startup making electric motorcycles. The new model is even better than their first one, the RM1S.

The founders of the company, Seb Inglis-Jones and Will Stirrup were surprised at how hushed and calm electric scooters were in China.

They wanted to revolutionize city travel by making battery packs that are easy to remove and charge.

This innovation means riders can avoid relying on petrol and can charge their bikes without dealing with complex public charging stations.

Maeving’s RM1S aims to make urban commuting simpler and more sustainable, setting a new standard in the industry for convenience and eco-friendliness.

Improved performance and design

The Maeving RM1S keeps the cool, futuristic style of its earlier model but with important improvements.

It now has a bigger battery and a better electric motor, which means it can go farther and perform better.

These upgrades make the RM1S perfect for busy city riding and longer trips outside the city.

This motorcycle sets a new standard because it can handle both types of travel well, showing how versatile electric bikes can be.

Powerful and efficient

Central to the RM1S’s performance is its new rear wheel-mounted electric hub motor, delivering 7kW of continuous power (with a peak of 10.5kW).

This enhancement allows the RM1S to achieve speeds of up to 70mph, rivalling traditional petrol-powered motorcycles.

The combination of power and efficiency ensures that riders experience smooth acceleration and reliable performance across various road conditions.

Advanced battery technology

The RM1S features twin battery packs composed of LG cells, strategically mounted within a stylish aluminium and carbon fibre housing unit.

Unlike its predecessor, which housed batteries in the faux fuel tank area, the RM1S’s low-mounted battery layout improves handling and stability.

This design choice enhances manoeuvrability, especially crucial for navigating congested city traffic with confidence.

User-friendly features

In response to customer feedback, Maeving introduces practical enhancements in the RM1S.

The old fuel tank area is now a big 10-litre storage bin that locks.

You can open it with a button on the handlebars.

There is also a built-in charging port. This makes it easy to charge the bike at home and keep the battery full.

Exceptional riding experience

During test rides through London, the RM1S demonstrated its prowess in urban environments.

Its agile handling and swift acceleration make it ideal for weaving through city traffic and overtaking slower vehicles with ease.

Despite its robust performance capabilities, the RM1S maintains a comfortable riding experience, catering to both seasoned riders and newcomers alike.

Pricing and market position

According to the Techrader website, Manufactured in Coventry, England, Maeving emphasizes affordability without compromising on quality.

Priced competitively at £7,495 ($8,995 / AU$13,700), the RM1S presents a compelling option within the electric motorcycle market.

By prioritizing accessible pricing and innovative design.

Maeving aims to appeal to a broad spectrum of riders seeking reliable, efficient, and stylish urban mobility solutions.

A game-changer in electric motorcycling

The Maeving RM1S is a new and exciting electric motorcycle. It uses the latest technology and has a practical design.

With better performance, new battery technology, and easy-to-use features, the RM1S sets a new standard for electric motorcycles in the UK and other places.

As Maeving keeps creating and adding new products, it shows it is a leader in green urban transportation.
